Kiddy Crafts with Katrina Vogler Ages 4-6
This is a fun filled class where your little ones will learn to combine the super basics of
drawing, painting and building with crafty materials. Three to four projects will be
completed in the course of 4 weeks.
Wednesdays, February 10 - March 3, 4-4:45 p.m.
Class Fee: $20, including materials
Create a Comic Book with Scott Rosema Ages 12+
Students will work with professional cartoonist Scott Rosema to create a group comic
book, from start to finish! Students will learn the process of developing a comic,
including story development and illustration. Everyone will each contribute to the
final collective book, which we will publish (fee includes final comic). Bring pencils
and a sketch book. Mon. and Wed., Feb. 22 - March 17 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Class Fee:
$70 Materials: $5
Youth Portrait Class with Katrina Vogler Ages 7-14
Students will learn the finer points of drawing a face, first by practicing on their own
face doing a self portrait, and then by drawing a live model. Great for their drawing
technique and confidence! Thurs., Feb. 11 and 18, 4-5 p.m. Fee: $15
Artists and Their Art with Carolyn Bone Ages 7-14
Learn the different styles and techniques used by the masters, and let them inspire you
to create your own masterpiece! This class will be a fun blend of art history and
creation. Class will focus on the artwork of Jim Dine, Andy Warhol, Joan Miro,
Kadinsky, Laurel Birch, Louise Nevelson, Picasso, and Van Gogh. Saturdays,
February 20 - April 24 (no class April 3 and 10)

Children’s Painting and Drawing with Katrina Vogler Ages 7+
In this structured course, students will explore the world of drawing, and expand on
these skills during painting lessons. Students will learn color mixing, highlighting,
various brushstroke techniques, and basic perspective. Students leave each class with
a completed work of art. Tues., Feb. 2 - March 23, 4-5:15 p.m. Class fee: $60 (siblings

Silhouettes with Missy Morrow Ages 8+
Students will get to create their own face in profile, and decorate it to their liking –
silly, serious, or otherwise. Thurs., Feb. 25, 6-7:30 p.m. Class Fee: $8
Beginner Ukulele Lessons with Chester Winowiecki Ages 8-Adult
You don’t have to know anything about music to have a great time with a ukulele!
Students will learn the basics of holding, tuning, and caring for their ukulele, as well
as a number of chords that can be used to play hundreds of songs, old and new.
Thursday, February 4-25, 6-7 p.m.
Class Fee: Free, but you must bring your own decent Ukulele.
Canvas Art with Carolyn Bone Ages 10 - Adult
Learn how to create one-of-a-kind piece of art on canvas, ready for framing and
display! Start with acrylic paint and add photographs, magazine clippings, fabric, or
other favorite items to provide inspiration and incorporate into your final piece
(please bring these items). Thurs., March. 4, 5-6:30 p.m. Fee: $8 Materials: $5
Art Journaling with Carolyn Bone Ages 10 - Adult
Embrace the loose, accidental art that can happen when you let yourself just create.
This class will mix art and writing...there will be some homework, but your favorite
kind of homework! Please bring your imagination and creative freedom. Thurs., Feb.

Guitar Lessons with Andrew Goldstein All Ages
Andrew is eager to share his knowledge of voice and guitar with you or your child, or
anyone, at any pace. His years of guitar performance experience will ensure a lesson
tailored to your needs! Any day after 5 p.m. - call Nuveen to arrange specifics. Cost -
$15/half hour, $25/hr.
Hemp Jewelry with Missy Morrow Ages 10+
Learn to make your own hemp and beaded jewelry - necklaces, bracelets, earnings, and
beyond! Feel free to bring your own charms or special beads to use in your design. We
will supply basic beads and hemp. Sat., Feb. 27, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Class Fee: $15
Wearable Art - T-shirt Design with Missy Morrow All Ages
Students will take time to create their own visual masterpiece, and turn it into
wearable art! Start by designing a t-shirt, with the final art scanned and printed on a
t-shirt transfer. The second class will be to iron on their design - you can order
additional t-shirt for friends and family. Shirts provided, bring sizes to the first class.
Fun for the entire family! Mon., March 22, 6-7 p.m., and Mon., March 29, 6-6:30 p.m.
Class Fee: $10, Supplies:$7 (extra shirts $7)
Plushies with Missy Morrow Ages 12+
Make a template for and design your own stuffed toy! We will provide all the basics
and fun embellishments to create your own plush creation. Bring any extras you may
have to decorate your creation - buttons, ribbon, beads, fabric scraps, etc.

Clay Sculpture with Andrew Goldstein Ages 8+
Get your hands messy and learn how to work with 3D art! Students will learn the
basics of working with clay materials, using both tools and their hands to create
pottery and sculpture. Finish with a short lesson on glazing and firing, and fantastic
clay pieces you will proudly display! Class located at Terrestrial Forming Studio, 5385
Lamos in Whitehall. Tuesdays, April 13 – May 4, 6-8 p.m. with a one-hour glazing
class to be scheduled on May 4. Class Fee: $60 Materials: $15
Spring Break Camps (April 5-8)
Spring Break Art Camp Ages 5+
Explore art and HAVE FUN in this creative setting where kids will draw, paint,
sculpt, and create. Creative projects focusing on art of the world will allow students to
explore other cultures without leaving town! Students will be surrounded by the Full
Circle - A Sailing Journey exhibit which will provide inspiration in their artistic
travels. Students will be grouped with kids of similar age. 10-11:30 a.m., $25/student
including materials (siblings $20)
Performing Arts Workshop
Students will get a chance to participate in many aspects of theatre performance,
including drama, dance, lighting, set design, audition skills, and makeup and
costuming. Each subject will be taught by a specialist in that field, creating a well
rounded performing arts experience!
Grades 3-5 - 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.; $25 Grades 6-12 - 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.; $35
Theatre Opportunities
Puppet Theatre with Alice Gambel 3rd grade +
Expand the theatre experience through puppetry and character development. Craft
three styles of puppets, create voices and personalities to accompany the puppets, and
prepare short puppet plays to be presented to friends and family. Mon., Jan. 25 - Feb.
8, 6:00-7:15 p.m. Fee: $25 Materials: $5
Nuveen Theatre Workshop with Alice Gambel and Friends Grades 3-12
The 2010 Nuveen Theatre Workshop performance is a Dragonfest. (A collage of one act
plays, dance, and song about dragons, princesses, kings, queens, and knights) The
show will be performed at the Howmet Playhouse on June 17, 18 & 19 and you must
be able to attend ALL performances. Rehearsals will be kept to a minimum and
scattered throughout April and May. Specific rehearsal times will be scheduled by age
and show after auditions and casting. You must, however, be available during the day
and/or evening from June 12th through the 19th. This workshop is open to 3rd
through 12th grade students who live anywhere within reasonable driving distance to
the White Lake area. You must be able to get yourself to rehearsals. Rehearsals will
always take place in Montague or Whitehall. The show will be directed by retired
theatre director/teacher Alice L. Gambel assisted by an intern and/or other adults.
Class fee (upon acceptance): $50
Audition Dates: Thursday, April 8, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.; Monday, April 12 4:30 - 6:00; or 6:
