Copper Wire Jewelry with Corene Kufta
Use simple tools, wire and beads to create beautiful pins, earrings, pendants and
bracelets.  Leave with new jewelry and the confidence to create your own!  Please
bring round and needle nose pliers, flush wire cutters, as well as special beads for a
bracelet – we will provide seed beads.

Drop-in Live Model Drawing with Linda Foley and Pat Miller
Join these two professional artists in working on your life drawing techniques.  We
will provide a model and good lighting, you bring everything else.  Please bring $5
for the model.            Sundays, February 7-21, 2-4 p.m.

People Watching – Photographing Portraits with Beth Reynders
Nuveen’s walls will be covered with art by local portrait artists – use their paintings
as inspiration as you learn the techniques of taking individual and group shots,
covering topics such as lighting, placement, and angles.  Please bring your camera
and batteries. Wednesday, February 17, 6-8 p.m.  Cost: $15

Lapidary with Hollie Benson
Students will use lapidary equipment to cut and shape a raw stone into a cabochon
(many stones provided to choose from or bring your own) which will be used to create
a one of a kind pendant wrapped in sterling silver, copper, or brass wire.  Bring
safety glasses if possible, class limited to four participants.

Polymer Clay Workshop with Vicky Odell
This introductory workshop will give you the skills to work with this fantastic oven-
dry clay using tools you already have in your home.  We will cover simple canework,
with plenty of individual instruction to guide you on your desired path.  Clay is a
great way to express yourself and get in touch with your creative side!

Photography Series with Elizabeth Reynders
Basic Digital Photography:
Learn digital information such as files, camera settings,
and all those confusing options your camera may have. Content will be guided by
participants.  Wednesday, March 3, 6-8 p.m.
Digital Photography II: Beyond the “Auto” Setting: Take your photography to the
next level!  Learn to use your camera to take better landscapes, portraits, close-ups,
action shots, and much more. We’ll cover photographic terms and their uses.  
Wednesday, March 10, 6-8 p.m.
Digital Photography III—Lets get shooting!  Get some practice with your camera!  We’
ll do some actual shooting in class and outside.  See what you can do with depth of
field, action, and portraits now that we’ve covered the basic info.  (Prerequisite:
Previous two classes or a VERY good understanding of your camera).  
Wednesday., March 17 6-8 p.m.
Class fee: $15 per class, take two classes for $27, or all three for $40
Please bring your camera, batteries, and instruction book to each class.

Porcelain Jewelry Workshop with Cara O’Brien
Use a variety of hand building techniques to create porcelain jewelry components in
the first class, glaze your work in the second and then finish with sterling silver wire
and findings.  Come away with two or more pairs of earrings, a pendant necklace,
and a few pins. Tues., March 9-23, 7-8:30 p.m.  Fee: $25  Materials: $15
 

Glass Mosaics with Missy Morrow
Use colorful glass to create incredible and creative mosaics that make fantastic wall
hangings.  Bring in pictures of your ideas, and we’ll scan them in to give you a base
to work with.  Create your roughly 12” x 12” mosaic in the first class, and finish with
grout in the second.  A great way to make original art and learn the basics of
mosaics!  Tues., April 20 6-8 p.m. and 27, 6-7 p.m.

Controlling Watercolors with Pat Miller
These paint-along sessions will help you learn watercolor techniques.  You’ll use
flowing colors into clean water to make a painting of a flower, all the while learning
to control your paints.  Materials provided, or bring your own.  Sign up by April 21.  
Wed., May 5 & 12, 6-8 p.m.  Class Fee: $25  Materials: $5

Watercolor Landscapes with Pat Miller
Use the watercolor techniques you’ve discovered in the controlling watercolor class,
or other past watercolor class experiences, to discover ways to use color and water to
paint landscapes.  Materials can be provided, or bring your own.
Sign up by April 21.  Wed., May 19 - June 2, 6-8 p.m. Fee: $38 Materials: $8

Beginner Ukulele Lessons with Chester Winowiecki     Ages 8-Adult
You don’t have to know anything about music to have a great time with a ukulele!
Students will learn the basics of holding, tuning, and caring for their ukulele, as well
as a number of chords that can be used to play hundreds of songs, old and new.
Thursday, February 4-25, 6-7 p.m.
Class Fee: Free, but you must bring your own decent Ukulele.

Canvas Art with Carolyn Bone                                Ages 10 - Adult
Learn how to create one-of-a-kind piece of art on canvas, ready for framing and
display!  Start with acrylic paint and add photographs, magazine clippings, fabric,
or other favorite items to provide inspiration and incorporate into your final piece
(please bring these items).  Thurs., M

Art Journaling with Carolyn Bone                        Ages 10 - Adult
Embrace the loose, accidental art that can happen when you let yourself just create.  
This class will mix art and writing...there will be some homework, but your favorite
kind of homework!  Please bring your imagination and creative freedom.  Thurs.,
Feb. 25 - April 1, 7-8 p.m.  Fee: $40   Materials: $5

Guitar Lessons with Andrew Goldstein                        All Ages
Andrew is eager to share his knowledge of voice and guitar with you or your child, or
anyone, at any pace.  His years of guitar performance experience will ensure a lesson
tailored to your needs!  Any day after 5 p.m. - call Nuveen to arrange specifics.  Cost -
$15/half hour, $25/hr.

Hemp Jewelry with Missy Morrow                                Ages 10+
Learn to make your own hemp and beaded jewelry - necklaces, bracelets, earnings,
and beyond!  Feel free to bring your own charms or special beads to use in your
design.  We will supply basic beads and hemp.  Sat., Feb. 27, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Wearable Art - T-shirt Design with Missy Morrow                All Ages
Students will take time to create their own visual masterpiece, and turn it into
wearable art!  Start by designing a t-shirt, with the final art scanned and printed on
a t-shirt transfer.  The second class will be to iron on their design - you can order
additional t-shirt for friends and family.  Shirts provided, bring sizes to the first
class.  Fun for the entire family!  Mon., March 22, 6-7 p.m., and Mon., March 29, 6-6:
30 p.m.  Class Fee: $10, Supplies:$7 (extra shirts $7)

Plushies with Missy Morrow                                        Ages 12+
Make a template for and design your own stuffed toy!  We will provide all the basics
and fun embellishments to create your own plush creation.  Bring any extras you
may have to decorate your creation - buttons, ribbon, beads, fabric scraps, etc.
Mondays, April 19-26, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Class Fee: $25             Materials: $5

Clay Sculpture with Andrew Goldstein          Ages 8+
Get your hands messy and learn how to work with 3D art!  Students will learn the
basics of working with clay materials, using both tools and their hands to create
pottery and sculpture.  Finish with a short lesson on glazing and firing, and fantastic
clay pieces you will proudly display!  Class located at Terrestrial Forming Studio,
5385 Lamos in Whitehall.  Tuesdays, April 13 – May 4, 6-8 p.m. with a one-hour
glazing class to be scheduled on May 4.  Class Fee: $60                Materials: $15
